The idea began with a simple notes file on my phone, a place where I kept names, spouses, and personal details I wanted to remember. One evening, I saw Anne S across the room and could not recall her spouse’s name. My wife could not remember either. I opened the notes and found it.
That moment sparked the idea to use a ChatGPT custom chat. I built it over a weekend. The next time it happened, I asked, “Tell me what I know about Jared.” The note appeared, Jared and his wife Alison were expecting their first child and closing on their first home in August. That detail turned an ordinary interaction into an intentional connection. I shared the idea with a buddy while golfing, he thought it was a winner, so I built it.

Download Trulii, create your account, and you are ready to go.
Before You Begin
A quick note on how Trulii works:
Trulii only uses the information you choose to enter. It does not search the web, scan social media, or infer details from outside sources. That is intentional. Trust comes from accuracy, and accuracy comes from insights you personally curate through real relationships. Over time, the more thoughtfully you use Trulii, the smarter and more useful it becomes for you.
To keep things simple, we will use Emily Jones as our example contact throughout these instructions.
Trulii gives you three ways to add and update information, Manual Mode, type or tap to enter names, details, and insights yourself, Chat Mode, use the ✨ Sparkle icon to type natural requests, Voice Mode, tap the mic to speak naturally. The steps below use Manual Mode so you can see the on screen flow, you can switch to Chat or Voice anytime by tapping the icons under Smart AI.
App Registration
- Open Trulii, tap Create Account, enter your email and a secure password.
- Verify your email, sign in.
- Connect your calendar if prompted, so Trulii can support reminders and follow ups.
- Choose notification settings to receive timely nudges.
Search
- Tap Search on the home screen.
- An alphabetized list of contact cards appears. Scroll to browse or type a name in the search bar at the top.
- When you find the person you want, tap their card to open the full profile.
- Review contact information, family details, and recent insights.
- At the bottom of the profile, tap Edit Profile to update or add details, or tap Delete to remove the contact.
- When editing, make your changes and choose Save or Cancel.

Add New Connection
- Tap New.
- Add helpful details, spouse, children, organization, role, relationship type.
- If you have an insight to add, select the Insight Category and add the insight.
- Save.
“I need to add information for Emily Jones.”
Trulii will respond,
“What information do you want me to add or change?”
Insights
- Tap Insights on the home screen.
- An alphabetized list of contact cards appears, scroll through the list or type a name in the search bar at the top.
- Select a contact, their Contact Info appears at the top with a button labeled Add New Insight.
- Below that, see all previously entered insights organized by category, the most recent appears first.
- Tap Add New Insight, choose the Insight Category from the dropdown, tap into the text field, write your insight, tap Save.

Reminders
- Tap Reminders on the home screen.
- A list of your upcoming reminders appears in chronological order.
- Scroll to review what is scheduled or completed.
- Tap Add Reminder at the bottom of the screen.
- Enter a Title, a short Description, select the Date and Time, tap Create Reminder.

Smart AI Chat and Voice
- On the home screen, look for the Smart AI header. Beneath it, you will see two icons, a ✨ Sparkle for Chat and a mic for Voice.
- Tap the ✨ Sparkle to type a prompt or tap the mic to speak naturally, Trulii understands both.
- You can ask to search, add, edit, or summarize in one step. For example, say or type,
“Show my notes for Emily Jones.”
“Add an insight under Professional for Rolanda Johnson.”
“Summarize my recent reminders.”
Trulii responds conversationally, confirming updates or presenting summaries directly on screen.
